At this year's national Two sessions, Wu Mingjiang, a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and former vice President of the Chinese Medical Association, submitted a proposal that "comprehensively promote the promotion, innovation and development of China's medical devices". The proposal puts forward some Suggestions on the basic research of medical devices, the construction of standard system, the effective combination of production and demand, and the encouragement of the development of domestic medical devices.
Wu mingjiang said that by the end of 2015, China had more than 14,000 medical device manufacturers, of which nearly 90 percent had a production scale of less than 20 million yuan, only 300 more than 100 million yuan, and more than 2,600 could produce high-end products.
By strengthening top-level design, relevant government departments have built communication platforms for production and demand, promoted interactive exchanges among production, learning, research and medicine, and tackled scientific and technological problems, so as to realize localization of a number of core equipment and key components, and effectively increase the market share of some domestic medical devices. At the same time, we will strengthen research on fundamental and important engineering technologies of the industry, and strengthen research on industrial applied engineering technologies and service capabilities, such as specialized manufacturing equipment, testing equipment, process technology, reliability research and stability research needed for mass production of medical devices.
